SkyJack versus the Forty Thieves

At long last, I finished work on the long awaited volume 2 of SkyJack and the Forty Thieves.
As soon as we're able to set up our publisher's page at Comixology we'll upload it there along with volume 1 remastering of the classic stories.

Reading is sexy!

"Magic of Myths" at ComicBookResources.com!

Or to be more precise at Brian Cronin's blog Comics should be good. Magic of Myths as part of the Month of African-American Comics.

In this series, Brotherson does a strong job with the concept of myths, especially modern myths, like the ones that we make up about ourselves and our lives. Are they any less powerful than the ancient myths? I suppose we will find out as the series continues.

Calvet’s work evokes a nice Kirby-esque feel to it that lends the comic a good deal of charm. (...) This is an engaging series with charming artwork from the main artist. I hope to see more of Eve’s heroic journey in the future.

Magic of Myths Season 2 is beginning to get some attention. A couple of new reviews, one good, the other one of the mixed kind (although both of them give almost the same note in the end).

"Calvet’s art is, if anything, even stronger this time out (...); it’s closer to a more kid-friendly version of something like 300, but even in his cartoony style, he brings intensity to the combat, and punctuates Eve’s story beats with wit and pathos, as called for."

"[The art] It’s cartoony and the bubblegum style feels more suited to Cartoon Network than anything else to my eyes. It lacks the visceral quality I look for, particularly in combat driven sequences. Thought Bubble 2013!

Both The Dark of the Forest and Magic of Myths will be at Thought Bubble, Leeds' Comic Convention, this 23 and 24 of November.
